The Job Search Process

If you want to find a job and find one quickly, you need to understand the entire process of how jobs get filled. Otherwise, you’re looking at a job search from just your vantage point and missing big pieces of the picture that can really help you fast-forward your job search.

A job search involves three essential components: the employer, the candidate, and the position to be filled. Recruiters may be a fourth component, depending on the job How employers and candidates go about finding each other is what constitutes the job search process You need to remember that employers have just as much of a process as you do.

Realize that, as much as you’re fretting over getting a job, the employer is equally fretting over filling that same job. From your point of view, somewhere “out there” the right opportunity is waiting to be found. And from the employer’s point of view, somewhere “out there” the perfect candidate is waiting to be found.
