Hunger and Weight Loss
Weight loss is largely determined by the difference between the energy taken as food compared to the energy loss due to activity and metabolism. A larger energy deficit causes a person to lose weight faster. However, a larger deficit also produces stronger feelings of hunger which can be a major problem in maintaining the weight loss program. This hunger starts when nutrients in the blood falls to a certain level and last until the level rises, usually when food is again taken or the body begins to metabolize fat back into nutrients. Thus, the faster the body metabolizes fat the faster the hunger is abated. Thus, supplements or medication that aid in this mobilization of fat is a good aid in any weight loss attempt.
