Becoming an IT professional

My friends and I were aspiring to be IT professionals one day, and at our final obstacle that needs to be overcome is passing the IT certification exams. We wanted to become certified IT professionals and enhance our chosen field in technology. My friend and I have been through a lot, and we wanted to pass our certification exams together.

After days of searching for the right training boot camp for us, we finally registered an the MCITP boot camp. The classes under this boot camp help students prepare in demonstrating comprehensive skills in planning, deploying, supporting, maintaining and optimizing IT infrastructures and distinguish themselves as experts in their specialized technology. The MCITP portions consisted of three separate camps, but we both decided to attend and train under the MCITP enterprise administrator boot camp, wherein we will be trained and prepared for five certifications exams. Attending the MCITP boot camps will help us focus on the exam objectives for the certification we were aspiring for. Our dreams of becoming an IT professional is slowly becoming real, with the right training boot camp, nothing can prevent us in achieving it.

Epson Stylus SX400

The Epson Stylus SX400 is a compact device that can print, copy and scan without taking up much space. It offers high-quality printing, scanning and copying, complete with LCD viewer, in one compact space saving product that won’t clutter your home or office. Running costs are kept to a minimum with a individual printer ink cartridges system that uses four ink cartridges one for each of the colours (black, cyan, magenta and yellow) which means only the colours that get used need to be replaced. The cost of the Epson SX400 ink cartridges depends on which type of cartridges you choose, there are the genuine Epson ink cartridges which cost £30 for a set or the compatibles which cost £15 a set. The SX400 has some impressive performance figures on paper some of which have obviously been exaggerated by Epson to put it into a better light. The figure that stands out is the claimed 34ppm printing speed which turns out unsurprisingly to be nowhere near the actual maximum printing speed of the SX400. Other impressive figures such as the impressive 5760dpi x 1440dpi print resolution seem to check out however as the SX400 produces excellent print quality for all the documents it prints. The built in A4 flatbed scanner also delivers in terms of quality as well as speed and comes complete with software for photo editing. The photo copier function works without the need for a PC and it also produces good results with a good balance between quality and speed of copying. In general the SX400 is a good all round device but lacks something that it excels in which makes it middle of road compared to some of its competitors.

The latest addition to the Epson Stylus Range

Budget printers more often than not a sting in their tails in that they appear to be a bargain until it comes to replacing the printer ink cartridges. The Epson D92 use four individual printer cartridges which are more economical than the old tri block cartridges which means you can change each cartridge individual and no ink gets wasted. Epson D92 ink cartridges are still not cheap however, when you compare than to the cost of the printer itself they cost about the same price for a full set. There are compatible printer cartridges available for the D92 and they do just as good a job as the originals but at a faction of the cost. Taking the D92 out of the box the first impression is very good and surprise because the built quality of the machine is very good and far from what we have come to expect from energy level inkjet printers. It compact too and looks good sitting to the side of a TFT screen. Installing the printer to a PC is easy and only involves plugging in two cables installing the ink cartridges and driver software. It starts to go downhill little when you first switch the printer on because it reveals itself to be very noisy. The print quality is excellent and it can print of a wide variety of paper media including photo paper, envelope and standard office paper of course. The high print quality come at a price however, the D92 is every slow at printing in fact its one of the slowest inkjet printer I have ever seen. At first I thought it was faulty because Epson claim that its capable of 25 pages per minute buy after reading some other reviews from other people who have bought the D92 the 3 pages per minute I was getting out of it is normal. This is a real disappointment because the D92 could have been a great little printer instead its just too slow for almost anybody’s needs.

Getting under the skin of the Samsung CLP-300N

The Samsung CLP-300n is the network-ready, colour laser printer designed to bring colour laser printing to the small business and home users. It plans to do this with a small price tag and equally small footprint. Measuring just 39 cm x 34.4 cm x 26.5 cm (WxDxH) is small enough fit of the most cluttered of desks. Running costs are reasonable with the Samsung CLP-300n toner cartridges printing 1,000 pages for each of the colours and 2,000 pages for the black giving an average cost per cost of 10 for colour and 2p for black prints. Compatible Samsung toner cartridges are also available for the CLP-300n and they cost up to 50% less than the genuine Samsung printer cartridges. The printer delivers beautiful colour prints at rather slow 4 ppm (pages per minute) and monochrome prints are sharp for both text and high resolution graphics, with a more impressive 17 ppm print speed. Operation noise is quiet and despite the CLP-300n budget price tag the overall build quality feels solid. Although the monthly duty cycle of 24,200 pages it not really the best printer for heavy work loads, this is evident in the slow colour printing speeds but also in the small 150 sheet paper tray capacity which makes refilling the CLP-300n with paper a regular chore. This is slight blip in the otherwise flawless value for money colour laser printer.
